Cryotherapy

The cryosauna has been around for quite some time. The therapy, cryotherapy, was invented in 1978 by a Japanese doctor and has since become a favourite of athletes, fitness enthusiasts and many other people around the world.

The development of cryosaunas is progressing rapidly, and at PAUSE recovery studio we are proud to offer some of the best equipment for cryotherapy.

What exactly is a cryosauna?

In this blog post, we’ll look at what a cryosauna is, the benefits of using one, whether it’s uncomfortable and more. In other words, we’ll answer any questions you may have.

What exactly is a cryosauna and cryo treatment?

A cryosauna is basically a sauna box with room for one person. You stand upright in the sauna box, with the exception of your head, and your entire body is covered.

The treatment takes place in an air temperature of less than -100 degrees, and it lasts up to three minutes. When your body is exposed to such a low temperature, it will push the blood towards the body’s organs, where toxins and waste products are filtered out and the blood is oxygenated and flows back into the skin and muscles.

A cryosauna session is a really effective way of getting your body to cope with very low temperatures. Cryotherapy is a cutting-edge cold treatment that has anti-inflammatory and recovery-enhancing effects.

During the treatment, you can see your therapist at all times and ask them questions or ask to pause the session if you want to.

Does the cryosauna actually work?

Absolutely, cryosauna works.

When cryotherapy was first developed, it was mainly used to help people with joint, muscle and osteoarthritis issues. But these days, it’s being used by lots of other people with different conditions and problems.

The cryosauna is a popular choice among athletes who use it to help them recover faster and perform better. Likewise, people who have suffered an injury or who have recently undergone surgery can really benefit from a cryosauna treatment. Cold treatment in a cryosauna is used for sports and muscle injuries, among other things.

There are lots of benefits to cryosauna, including:

It can also help with recovery time, sleep quality, collagen production, energy levels, mobility and lots more!

Is cryotherapy painful?

No, a cryosauna treatment doesn’t hurt, even though it might feel like it when your body is exposed to such intense cold. However, you might feel a tingling sensation during the treatment, which is just your body adjusting and getting the blood flowing.

How often should I be having a cryosauna treatment?

How often you have a cryosauna treatment is up to you. As a general rule, we suggest doing it one or two times a week.
How many treatments you need to see the effects depends on the person. It really depends on what you’re hoping to achieve from the treatment. It could be pain relief, stress relief or something completely different.
